The Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) is seeking a Coordinator, Stakeholder Relations. We have a permanent position available to start immediately.

The role

Under the direction of the Manager, Stakeholder Relations, the Coordinator, Stakeholder Relations supports the department’s activities, such as daily media monitoring and support of the distribution of daily media clips, communications planning and execution, monitoring inboxes for internal and external stakeholders and corresponding appropriately, intranet content creation and posting, and maintaining an issues management binder. The Coordinator, Stakeholder Relations supports and, in some cases, works independently on the planning and execution of RECO’s external and internal events. External events may include tradeshows, the annual general meeting, the election of RECO’s Board of Directors, meetings with executive officers of Ontario real estate boards and advisory councils and committees, as well as presentations to local real estate boards. Internal events include staff town halls, etc. Other responsibilities include assisting the Stakeholder Relations team with a variety of communications projects as required.

Position responsibilities

  • Monitors department inboxes and responds to emails or triages emails as appropriate to other departments in a timely and professional manner, collaborating with internal experts and stakeholders for information and fact checking.
  • Creates daily media monitoring reports and distributes to staff and board of directors.
  • Plans, coordinates and executes internal and external events. Liaises with vendors, external partners and internal speakers.
  • Works closely with internal experts to draft presentations and other writing projects. Reviews material for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Supports team with stakeholder management, media relations, budgeting, and other tasks as required.

Qualifications and experience

  • Minimum of two years related work experience or a combination of relevant education and experience
  • Completion of post-secondary education in communications, journalism, business, event management, office administration or other relevant area
  • Superior administrative and organizational skills with an ability to juggle competing priorities and manage time effectively
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Excel and Outlook
  • Good knowledge of communication distribution platforms (Envoke, Constant Contact, or similar).
  • Solid experience in event planning, coordination, and execution
  • Experience coordinating meetings and preparing meeting materials
  • Strong writing, editing, grammar and spelling skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and demonstrate sound judgment in determining appropriate course of action quickly
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder-relations skills
