RECO is governed by a nine-person Board of Directors split in three director categories: sector directors, non-sector directors and ministerial appointees. This Board structure aligns with orders from the Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery issued to RECO on January 2, 2024. RECO’s Board of Directors is responsible for providing ongoing strategic oversight to RECO as it fulfills its mandate of consumer protection.

Katie Steinfeld, Chair of RECO’s Board of Directors, has served on RECO's Board since 2020. She was Chair for the 2023-24 term and then reappointed for 2024-25. Katie has been a registered real estate professional for 14 years. For seven years, she has been the Broker of Record and Owner of On The Block Realty Inc., an independently owned real estate brokerage in Woodbridge, Ontario. Katie holds a Bachelor Business Administration-Marketing degree from the Schulich School of Business, York University.

Tim Lee, Vice-Chair of RECO’s Board of Directors, has served on RECO’s Board of Directors since 2019. Before serving as a Board Director, Tim was Chair of RECO’s Discipline Committee in 2004. Tim has been a registered real estate professional for over 35 years and is currently Broker at Century 21 Synergy Realty Inc., Smiths Falls Branch. Tim has served as President of the Ontario Real Estate Association (2006) and President of the REALTORSCare© Foundation. Tim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Administrative Studies from York University.

Karim Karsan joined RECO’s Board of Directors in May 2024. Karim is Vice-President and Associate General Counsel at the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario. He has held a number of compliance and consumer-protection roles including: Deputy Registrar and Director of Licensing and Registration at the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, and Vice President, Consumer Protection and Chief Compliance Officer at the Ontario Energy Board. He is currently Vice-Chair of Kensington Health Foundation and serves on the Board of the Ontario Arts Foundation. Karim holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Manitoba and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Schulich School of Business, York University.

Krystal Lee Moore has served on RECO’s Board of Directors since 2022. Krystal has been a registered real estate professional since 2011 and is currently a Broker with Royal Lepage Triland Realty in London, Ontario. Krystal contributes to Real Estate Magazine and Real Estate Now. She also hosts the #RealtorLife podcast. Krystal holds a Master of Business Administration with a focus on real estate leadership from the University of Fredericton.

Judy Pfeifer joined RECO’s Board of Directors in May 2024. She brings extensive communications, regulatory and board experience to RECO, having served on multiple boards over the last 15 years. Judy holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Carleton University and a graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management from Seneca College.

Stephen Rotstein joined RECO’s Board of Directors in May 2024. Stephen is Vice-Chair at Tribunals Ontario where he adjudicates Landlord and Tenant Board matters. He has extensive regulatory and voluntary leadership experience including serving as Bencher (Board Member) of the Law Society of Ontario, President of In-House Counsel Worldwide, an Adjudicator for the Law Society Tribunal, and is a Member of the Federal Judicial Advisory Committee for the Greater Toronto Area. He also previously served as President of the Canadian Bar Association. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and history from Western University and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall, York University. He is a member of the Bar in Ontario and New York State and holds the Certified In-House Counsel – Canada certification (CIC.C).

Jasvinder (Jessie) Singh joined RECO’s Board of Directors in May 2024. Jessie is Chief Financial Officer at the law firm of Koskie Minsky. His career has spanned the banking, telecom, and accounting sectors. Jessie is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA). Jessie serves on the Board of the Guelph General Hospital and is Chair of the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Halton Branch. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business, York University.
