The post-registration program is a key step in the career development of Ontario’s real estate agents. Tailored for newly registered agents, it focuses on enhancing knowledge in regulatory compliance, expanding specialized knowledge, and building their skills.
To be eligible to renew registration at the end of their initial two-year registration cycle with RECO, the agents must complete the post-registration program.
RECO offers post-registration education through the following providers:
Name | Registration available | Classes begin | Conclusion |
Accepting new learners until June 30, 2025 | Ongoing | Early September (Humber Polytechnic will communicate directly to the learners)
July 1, 2025 | July 7, 2025 | 5-year term
July 1, 2025 | July 7, 2025 | 5-year term
July 1, 2025 | July 7, 2025 | 5-year term
July 1, 2025 | TBA | 5-year term |
To enroll in the post-registration program, participants must have successfully completed the pre-registration education program and be registered with RECO to trade in real estate.
Agents must complete the mandatory compliance course first, followed by any two of the five electives.
The completion of this program is mandatory to renew registration with RECO at the end of the initial two-year cycle.
Please refer to the educational provider’s website to confirm applicable program fees.
The post-registration program consists of two essential components: a mandatory compliance course and a choice of two elective specialization opportunities.
This program structure allows real estate agents to choose their areas of focus, refine and reinforce their knowledge and behaviours to stay compliant with regulations, and gain a competitive edge by acquiring specialized knowledge. By completing the post-registration program, agents fulfil the requirements for registration renewal after their initial two-year cycle, while also enhancing their career prospects in Ontario’s dynamic real estate industry.
Learners must complete the post-registration education program within 2 years of registering with RECO.
