The Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) is seeking a Procurement Specialist. We have one, 12-month contract position available to start immediately.

The role

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to lead and support procurement activities across the organization, with a focus on major infrastructure needs, including IT, HR, and Communications. This role manages the full procurement lifecycle—sourcing, competitive bids, contract negotiation, execution, and post-implementation review—while ensuring compliance with policies and public procurement standards.

The ideal candidate has experience with platforms such as MERX, strong contract and supplier management skills, and the ability to provide procurement consultation to internal departments.

Position responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end procurement processes for goods and services.
  • Develop procurement templates and documentation from initiation to post-delivery review.
  • Post and manage public procurement opportunities (e.g., MERX).
  • Negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships.
  • Support departments with procurement strategy and compliance.
  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain procurement records.
  • Contribute to procurement policy development and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of procurement experience, preferably in the public sector.
  • Experience with MERX and public procurement processes.
  • Strong negotiation, financial analysis, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure procurement (IT, HR, Comms) is an asset.
