The Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) is seeking a Software Developer - Level 3. We have one permanent position available to start immediately.

The role

Under the direction of and working with the Manager, Application Development:

  • Develop, test and debug new front-end and back-end applications.
  • Maintain and support existing front-end and back-end applications.
  • Develop database objects and structures to maintain, enhance and extend RECO systems and functionality.
  • Develop Dynamics entities and structures to maintain, enhance and extend RECO systems and functionality.
  • Document procedures, programs, data structures and dependencies.
  • Maintain proper source code control and versioning.
  • Maintain adherence to industry standards best practices, the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), Information Systems and Corporate policies as required.
  • Develop and maintain reports as required.
  • Monitor systems performance, eliminating bottlenecks and resolving issues as needed.
  • Provide troubleshooting, debugging and systems integrity monitoring on a regular, ongoing basis.
  • Keep the Manager, Application Development and IT teams apprised of the status of all problems, issues and assigned projects on a regular and as-needed basis.

Position responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test and debug new and existing front-end and back-end application solutions to maximize performance, value, security and integrity of RECO systems.
  • Work with Business Systems Analysts and Business Users to maximize performance, value, security and integrity of RECO processes.
  • Document application solutions, plans and results for testing and implementation, including back-out processes as per departmental change management policy.
  • Provide customer service and systems support, and act as backup for other departmental staff as required.

Qualifications and experience

  • 5+ years of experience with .NET Framework, .NET Core, C#, MVC, Web API
  • 5+ years of experience with HTML5, CSS, XML, JSON, JavaScript
  • 5+ years of experience with MS SQL Server, Reporting Services and SQL
  • 2+ years of experience with Dynamics 365 and SharePoint
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices (CI/CD, build automation, test automation, etc.)
  • Knowledge of SSL/TLS, SSO, SAML, OAuth web security protocols
  • Knowledge of Azure Services (Web Apps, SQL/NoSQL Databases, AD B2C, etc.)
  • Knowledge of AODA standards and WCAG 2.1 Level AA or higher
  • Knowledge of Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate)
  • Knowledge of IIS and Windows Server
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter with great organizational skills
  • Works well in a team environment; supportive, collaborative, cooperative, service-oriented
  • Industry-recognized training, e.g. Computer Science diploma or degree (MS Certifications are nice to have)
